ZANU PF Central Committee Member-elect Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei has said Harare Province will “never be the same again”, vowing to roll out empowerment projects across the Metropolitan province
Speaking following a Zanu PF Harare Provincial Council meeting held yesterday, Harare provincial chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa said the meeting with Cde Tagwirei was centred on strategies to strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of future electoral contests.
“We are pleased to announce that we held a fruitful meeting with Dr Tagwirei, where he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the people of Harare through targeted empowerment initiatives,” said Cde Masimirembwa.
“These efforts are not only meant to address socio-economic challenges but to ensure that Harare returns to the revolutionary path by reclaiming all National Assembly and local authority seats.”
Cde Masimirembwa said the province had set in motion plans to mobilise every eligible voter while simultaneously addressing the day-to-day challenges of residents through sustainable empowerment programmes.
“This initiative will see at least 6 000 families benefiting directly from empowerment projects that will soon be rolled out under the guidance and support of Dr Tagwirei,” he said.
“The projects will focus on income-generating activities, skills development, and access to capital, particularly for women and youths, in line with the party’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind.”
Cde Tagwirei’s pledge is seen as a major boost to the party’s organisational momentum in the capital, traditionally considered an opposition stronghold.
Senior Zanu PF leaders who attended the meeting described the engagement as “timely and transformative”, adding that Harare must become a model of political and economic renewal.
