Talen Vision want BCC docked points for using suspended players

IT might be a New Year and a new dawn, but for Talen Vision the same old fight continues.

The Zifa Southern Region runners up have not given up the fight to play in the Premier Soccer League next season and will pursue the ongoing case with Zifa into the New Year.

Talen Vision lost the First Division league title to Bulawayo City FC, the local authority owned club.

But the club argues that Bulawayo City used suspended players in some of their games thus the results for those particular matches must be declared null and void by the football mother body — Zifa.

“We will be playing in the Premier Soccer League next year,” declared Talen Vision spokesman Lovemore Dube in a brief interview on New Year’ eve.

“Bulawayo City used suspended players and therefore cannot be declared winners of the Zifa Southern Region league. We have a very strong case, which we are pursuing with the highest officer and will continue to do so going into the incoming year,” said Dube.

The club’s feeder team — Filabusi Under-19 — gained promotion into the Zifa Central Region and will be playing First Division football next year.

“We will not be having two teams in separate Division One leagues next year. Talen Vision, like I said, will be in the Premiership while our feeder side will be playing in the Zifa Central Region.

“The club executive will meet on the 10th of January to map a way forward and plan for the year 2020,” said Dube.

It remains to be seen how Zifa will handle the Talen Vision and Bulawayo City FC debacle.

The Bulawayo City Council-owned team are adamant that they are the legitimate winners of the First Division league and will be playing Premiership football next season.
