TRIANGLE United have secured the signature of seasoned forward Talent Chawapiwa on a one-year contract.
The deal offers the experienced player a chance to reignite a career that has faced significant hurdles.
Chawapiwa, who previously featured in South Africa, endured a difficult return to the domestic top-flight football with Simba Bhora, where his spell was marred by poor form.
In South Africa, he had stints with Baroka, Amazulu, and Sekhukhune United.
His arrival forms part of a broader rebuilding project under new Triangle coach Thomas Ruzive, who is determined to steer the club clear of the relegation struggles that defined their previous campaign.
Before going to South Africa, he turned out for Harare City and FC Platinum.
Chawapiwa’s manager, Fungai Mutsanya, confirmed the signing, framing it as a pivotal fresh start.
“Talent penned a one-year deal with Triangle recently,” Mutsanya said.
“From Talent’s camp, it’s a big opportunity for us as the player wants to prove that he is not yet a spent force.
“He is eager to help the club reach its targets and his experience can be of great importance.”
Mutsanya acknowledged that recent injuries have been a major obstacle for the forward.
“He has struggled with injuries in recent stints, which has been a major setback for him. Now we understand he is fully recovered and ready to give his best.”
The sentiment is echoed by Chawapiwa himself, who expressed gratitude for the club’s faith.
“I am grateful to Triangle for believing in me and giving me a chance to showcase my abilities and help the team achieve its goals.
“It’s a new challenge I have embraced and willing to give my best to achieve the best results.
“Triangle are a club that have created space for themselves in the local league and they are an important social integration link within the Lowveld community,” added Chawapiwa.
Chawapiwa joins a host of new faces at the club, including Tatenda Mchisa, Emmanuel Chikwende, Ariel Makopa, and Issa Sadiki, as Ruzive orchestrates a comprehensive squad overhaul.
