POPULAR Bulawayo social media celebrity Talent Moyo is in hot water after he was dragged to court for allegedly robbing a woman of US$150 along the busy 6th Avenue corridor.
The 25-year-old, known for his flashy online antics and big personality, allegedly pounced on Value Chivange (38) near the intersection of Jason Moyo and Fife Street on 11 September.

According to court papers, Talent reportedly searched Chivange’s pockets and snatched the cash before vanishing into the bustling evening crowd, leaving the shocked woman stranded.
Chivange, a self-employed businesswoman from Lobengula West, immediately reported the incident to the police, leading to Talent’s arrest shortly after.

Investigators say none of the stolen money was recovered.
“The accused unlawfully took US$150 belonging to the complainant with the intent to permanently deprive her of her money,” said the prosecutor Dorcas Maphosa.

Talent, who has built a reputation as a street-smart influencer who is growing audiences for social media content creators, now faces charges of theft under the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act.
Appearing before Magistrate Barbra Maphosa Phiri, he was calm and even flashed a quick smile to some of his supporters who had gathered to witness the proceedings.

The case, which has become the talk of the town due to Talent’s fame, has left many of his followers stunned, with some refusing to believe he could be involved in such a crime.
He was remanded in custody and is expected back in court tomorrow as investigations continue.

The total value of the money stolen remains at US$150.
