SONGBIRD Tamy Moyo’s new song, ‘Kwatoenda,’ which dropped yesterday, is already receiving some rave reviews from her growing army of fans.
It is one of the songs from her forthcoming album Bold.
It was released yesterday and it appears her fans can barely wait for her to drop the album.
The album has a helping hand from a variety of artists who include Delroy Shewe, Saintfloew, Jah Prayzah, Alick Macheso, Nutty O, Winky D, the late Chiwoniso Maraire and Soul Jah Love.
This has resulted in a rich collection of songs.
“I think it’s a reminder to people to be unapologetically themselves, to give your best in all that you do, to not be afraid to speak the truth, to express yourself and to always do things to the best of your ability and to always stay in your higher power,” said Tamy.
“Don’t pretend around your friends, don’t pretend around those who are around you and the music sings for itself. For me, it was an opportunity to do the things I’ve been afraid to do as an artist, which is sing a different kind of sound.
“So, it is a statement to say I’m bold enough to be proud to be who I am, not apologise for it, be truly Zimbabwean at core and for people to enjoy that through my music.”
During the listening party in Borrowdale on Saturday, veteran music producer, Clive Mono Mukundu, urged her not to imitate Beyonce.
Mono urged Tamy to be always be herself.
