TAPIWA Makore Junior’s mother went through a roller-coaster of emotions in court yesterday as justice was finally delivered to the two men who killed her son for ritual purposes.

She was part of a courtroom exploding with emotions as the boy’s relatives – Tafadzwa Shamba and Tapiwa Makore – were found guilty of the gruesome murder.

His mother, Linda Munyori, wept each time the court narrated how the murder of her only son was conducted.

Many were shaken to the core by the brutal murder of a young, innocent boy and, now and again, they would shake their heads in agony and disbelief.

MUNYARADZI Makore – Tapiwa’s father

As the day unfolded, it revealed a dark and twisted plot, masterminded by two individuals for ritual purposes.

Tapiwa Makore Snr was more of a father figure to Tapiwa Jnr but he had seemingly lost his way after being captured by his own demons.

Shamba was swayed by Tapiwa’s manipulation to get rich ‘quickly and easily’.

Aware of the magnitude of their crimes, Justice Mutevedzi delivered a powerful judgment, condemning the actions of the duo and acknowledging the impact their actions had on the family.

When the moment finally arrived, for the judge to pronounce the judgment, the courtroom fell into silence, as the judge’s words echoed through the space.

“Tafadzwa Shamba you are found guilty of the murder and Tapiwa Makore you are also guilty as an accomplice,” said the judge.

The sentencing of the duo has been set for July 12.
