Afro-Jazz crooner Alexio Kawara will tonight hold a joint show with Tariro neGitare at the Zimbabwe Germany Society, Milton Park. Alexio has embarked on project to engage artistes from different genres to spice up his Thursday shows popularly known by his fans as “KuChina” at ZGS.

Speaking through his manageress Farirai Chavura, Alexio said he wants to bring variety to his Thursday shows hence the decision to rope in fellow musicians

“We just felt that there is a need to bring different artistes for our show at the Zimbabwe Germany Society. We want people to have a different feel of music and also appreciate other musicians and genres,” she said.

The “Shaina” hitmaker last Thursday featured Zim dancehall sensation Sniper Storm at the show.

“Last week we had a wonderful show with Sniper. He put up a sterling performance and people really enjoyed it, so tomorrow ( today) we will be sharing stage with talented vocalist and guitarist Tariro neGitare and we are looking forward to a great show.

“Next week we will also invite Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana,” he said.

On the other hand, Tariro said it was an honour to be sharing the stage with someone who has inspired her as a musician.

“It is always an honour to share the stage with Alexio as he is someone I look up to and who has always been supporting me. “Thursday will be a great show as Alexio and I share amazing stage chemistry,” she said.

She also added that she has engaged Alexio for her Friday Acoustic Nights.

“Friday Acoustic Night is my brand and we will be hosting Alexio once a month at KwaMambo Restaurant,

“I am excited because Alexio is one of the artistes who helped us build the Acoustic Night. Also featuring at our acoustic programme would be comedian Carl-Joshua Ncube, Prayersoul, Vito and Pearl Natasha,” she said.

Alexio said he was putting the final touches on his long overdue album.

“We are almost done with mixing and mastering. We have finished recording and we are also going to release the album together with some videos,” he said.
