THE National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare on Tuesday evening turned into a house of pizazz as the predominantly quiet space hosted an exquisite launch party of the new Coca-Cola marketing campaign.

Dubbed “Taste The Feeling”, the campaign that features universal storytelling with the product at heart seeks to celebrate the idea that drinking any Coca-Cola product is a pleasure that makes moments more special.

“Using a unique approach that leverages universal storytelling through Instagram-inspired imagery, the campaign celebrates the simple pleasure of drinking a Coca-Cola beverage,” said Coca-Cola Zimbabwe country manager, Noma Halimana.

This campaign falls under another new global strategy called “One Brand” which will see for the first time ever, Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light/Diet, Coca-Cola Zero, and Coca-Cola Life being all positioned in one campaign.

“This marks the first time in our history that all trademark Coca-Cola brands are united under one global creative campaign. It reinforces the notion that the Coca-Cola with or without calories or caffeine is for everybody.”

She also highlighted that the campaign has been met with much enthusiasm from consumers and customers who bring the different brands to life globally.

Upon arrival, guests were treated to a red-carpet experience and were welcomed by ice cold glasses of Coca-Cola before being ushered into the auditorium where they mingled and mixed with some of Zimbabwe’s top personalities that included the likes of Mai Chisamba, MisRed, KVG, Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa as well as artistes such as Prosper The Comic Pastor, Roki, EXQ, Goodchild and Hakeem among many others.

Meanwhile, DStv has also launched its #AfricaIsAFeeling hash tag in preparation for the Africa Day celebrations on May 25.

With this hash tag, people will be expected to celebrate the success, achievement and growth of the African continent, by sharing their feelings using the hashtag on various social media platforms.

“This month, we celebrate our beautiful continent and pay tribute to the rich storytelling, the vibrant music, breath-taking nature and colourful cultures that make us proud to African,” said DStv in a statement.

“It’s the hope you feel in a rousing melody on The Voice: Nigeria, the joy in an electrifying ululation on Hotel Majestic, the contentment in a soothing hum of a mother on Tinsel, the love exuded as a couple celebrates their union on Our Perfect Wedding, it’s the euphoria of watching the home football team qualify for the Afcon 2017 tournament and the shock of an irreverent joke made by the Zambezi News trio.

“There’s no denying that African stories on DStv trigger a variety of feelings and throughout May, MultiChoice Africa will put Africa’s compelling storytellers on centre stage to commemorate Africa Day.” – Zimbojam/Showbiz Reporter
