Teachers to undergo martial arts training

Minister Lazarus Dokora said two experts from China would be in Zimbabwe this month-end to train the teachers.

He was speaking after touring a new classroom block at Marshall Hartley Primary School in Msengezi.
He was accompanied by Media, Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu.

“Martial art is a discipline in sport just like any others, such as mountain climbing and athletics among others. So we are going to have a total of 50 teachers who will be trained in that field,” he said.

Deputy Minister Dokora said the teachers would be drawn from all the provinces.
The teachers would be trained at Chaminuka Vocational Training Centre in Mashonaland Central province.

He said the training would last between 30 and 40 days.
“Those who excel during the intensive training will be sent to China for more training,” he said.
The Deputy Minister said 100 more teachers would travel to China for computer training so that they teach pupils at various schools.
