SOUTH African award-winning Kwaito group Teddy Bears are set to perform in Mutare for the first time at the DJ Stavo birthday-bash tomorrow (Saturday) at the new premium nightclub Club Glow at Golden Peacock Hotel.
Kwekwe-based DJ Stavo, real name Steven Sanders, who has bagged a number of awards on the domestic entertainment scene, will for the first time hold his now annual grandiose birthday bash celebrations in Mutare.
DJ Stavo, who recently performed in Mutare in January, is still riding high after scooping the 2014 ZIMA Best music-video award for his single ‘Ingoma’ featuring South Africa’s top artiste Mnqobi Mdabe aka Shota.
On the other hand, the DJ Cleo-founded group, Teddy Bears, of the ‘Turn around’ and Hlokoloza fame will be performing for the second time in Zimbabwe since 2011.
Club Glow spokesperson and resident DJ, Chucky ‘Chucknosis’ Aisha said DJ Stavo held the extravagant birthday bashes annually but this would be the first time in Mutare.
“We do not want to be just called a premium club for nothing and just have the usual club nights. Club Glow will revolutionise the entertainment scene in Mutare.
“We will bring the best DJ’s and performing artistes in the business. A lot of shows are lined up,” said DJ Chucknosis.
He said among some of the lined up shows in the next few months is the recently re-united Qaya Musik outfit Afrika Revenge of the Wanga fame, top South African Kwaito artiste, Professor, of the Jezebel hit-song and international dancehall radio DJ Chris Goldfinger.
