THIS Saturday will mark a significant moment for Zimbabwe’s Christian community and youth culture as 17-year-old Yeshua Dzumbira launches her powerful debut book, “Discovering Yeshua” at The Mustard Seed in Harare.

The young author, a rising voice in faith, youth leadership, and creativity, is poised to inspire a generation with her message of bold Christian living.

Daughter of David and Adeyline Dzumbira, Yeshua is no stranger to service and spiritual commitment. Born and raised in Harare, her faith was nurtured and her leadership skills honed within the vibrant community of the United Methodist Church Innercity. Active in youth leadership roles, she developed a passion for inspiring her peers, a passion that now culminates in her written work.

Discovering Yeshua is far more than just a collection of words, according to its young author.

Penned under what she describes as the, “instruction and inspiration of the Holy Spirit,” the book carries a prophetic call to her generation. It urges young believers to embrace an unapologetic life for Christ, aiming to raise “an army” of faith-driven youth.

“When I wrote this book, it wasn’t just about telling my story. It’s about showing other young people that Jesus is real, present, and closer than we often think,” Yeshua explained.

While the primary audience is youth navigating the complexities of modern life, the book’s core message – seeking deeper faith, purpose, and transformation – resonates powerfully with readers of all ages.

“My prayer is that anyone who picks up this book encounters Yeshua Hamashiach for themselves.” (Yeshua Hamashiach is a Hebrew phrase meaning “Jesus the Messiah” or “Jesus the Anointed One”) she added with heartfelt conviction.

Yeshua’s mission extends beyond the pages of her book. In 2023, she founded, “Wear Yeshua,” a distinctive clothing brand with the motto, “Wear Jesus Everywhere You Go.” This venture embodies her vision of seamlessly merging faith and creativity, transforming belief in Jesus into a lived and visible daily lifestyle.

Together, her book and her brand form a cohesive call to action. She aims to spark a widespread movement – empowering youth to carry the message and presence of Jesus confidently into every sphere of their lives, from school and social circles to future careers.

Looking ahead, the ambitious teen envisions expanding her impact through workshops, collaborations, events, and other faith-based initiatives designed to unite and empower her generation under the banner of Christ. Her book launch this Saturday is not just the debut of an author, but the potential ignition point for a new wave of faith-driven youth leadership in Zimbabwe and beyond. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
