Good morning from Mlowezi Village in Gwanda, where the community is preparing to lay to rest arts icon Babongile Sikhonjwa.
Sikhonjwa died on September 21, at the age of 49.

Babongile Sikhonjwa’s friend and one of the masters of ceremony Sifundo Ngwenya giving details on the burial of Sikhonjwa, who will be laid to rest today at his ancestral land at Mlowezi village in Gwanda.
Babongile Sikhonjwa’s cousin Mafa Moyo says they are expecting at least three buses from Bulawayo who will join other mourners at Sikhonjwa’s final resting place at his ancestral land, at Mlowezi village in Gwanda.

The burial ceremony of Babongile Sikhonjwa is underway at his ancestral land at Mlowezi, Gwanda, Matebeleland South.

His father says Babongile was his favourite in the family as he resembled him in terms of leadership, responsibility and jokes.
He says he will miss his son dearly as he was his prototype.
