A TEENAGE boy, found naked and dead in a bushy area near Montrose Girls High School in Bulawayo, is yet to be identified, as police investigate two separate cases involving minors whose bodies were discovered days apart.
The boy, estimated to be between 14 and 17 years old, was found on Wednesday at around 3pm, with his school uniform lying a few metres away.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the uniform included a maroon-and-yellow striped tie, black belt, grey socks, maroon scarf, black shoes and navy-blue-and-yellow shorts associated with Founders High School.
The body was at an advanced stage of decomposition and was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem examination.
In a separate incident, the body of Bradley Moyo (17), of Mabutho, Umguza, was discovered hanging from a tree branch in Lower Rangemore on Tuesday at around 2pm.
Inspector Msebele said a 26-year-old man who was walking through the area discovered Moyo’s body, which was also at an advanced stage of decomposition.
Moyo was last seen by his mother on October 24, and a police report was subsequently made.
Both bodies were taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for post-mortem examinations.
Inspector Msebele urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant about the welfare and whereabouts of their children, particularly minors.
She expressed concern that both bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting the teenagers may have been missing for several days before being discovered.
Police have appealed to anyone with a missing relative matching the description of the unidentified boy to visit United Bulawayo Hospitals for identification.
