WHEN friends fight it gets ugly!
That’s how a secret between two teenagers came out leading to their arrest.
Getrude Mpofu (18) asked her friend Ashley Nyerenda (19) to help her commit an abortion. However, later on when the two had a fight, Nyerenda insulted her friend as “inhumane” for committing the heinous crime but little did they know someone was listening.
The eavesdropper alerted Mpofu’s boss about the issue and the boss in turn quizzed Mpofu whose answer was unsatisfactory.
The two were arrested and appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Lungile Ncube facing charges of unlawful termination of a pregnancy.
The court heard that Mpofu who is employed as a maid in Pumula East sometime in July asked her friend Nyirenda to help get rid of a pregnancy and the latter supplied two Cytotec tablets that Mpofu inserted in her private parts.
During police investigations Mpofu was taken to hospital for medical examination and in court she pleaded guilty to the charges, but her alleged partner in crime pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate reminded them in custody to 8 August.
