LADIES in Action Zw, in partnership with Pachedu Charity Foundation, yesterday engaged in a one-day awareness campaign to fight child marriages and teen pregnancies.
The event was held at Bradford College in Southerly Park, Harare.
Ladies in Action Zw director, Tafadzwa Kanhema, said young people should try by all means to avoid STIs and avoid teen pregnancies.
“The only safe and best solution to avoid STIs, and teen pregnancies, is to avoid substance abuse. STIs are not like airborne diseases such as coughs or flus.
“One will have crossed the line and experimented sexually,” he said.
Pachedu Charity Foundation director, Prudence Zhangazha, said girls need to be taught about menstrual hygiene to stay safe and healthy.
She said there was nothing dirty about menstruation and advised the girls to know their cycle dates.
