A KAMBUZUMA teenager is battling for his life after he was stabbed by a strange man, who is suspected to have had a motive, to kill him.
The unidentified man, sped from the scene, following a confrontation with some Good Samaritans.
The young man, Bongani Ngwenya, was stabbed with a knife, at Garden Park turn off. His mother confirmed the incident and a police report has been filed at Kambuzuma Police Station under RRB 5186231.
“My son was coming from town, after he boarded a lorry, which was going to Mufakose. He then dropped off at Garden Park turn off towards Mufakose Way and after he jumped from the lorry, he saw a man who was seated at a bridge, across the road.
“So, the man, approached him from the back, and accused him of stealing his phone.
“He then took the phone, which is mine, a P36, which my son had borrowed from me. Following an argument, the man threw the phone onto the ground and started beating my son,” she said.
She added: “Then, a certain man came to his rescue after noticing a fracas but he was told my son had stolen the phone.
“So, the man, who had come to assist, left leaving my son crying for help, which prompted some commuters to approach the scene. They advised him to surrender the phone if he had stolen it and he didn’t know that during the fracas he was being stabbed.
“So, these who were helping noticed some blood.
“At that moment, the strange man started dragging my son before he was stopped.
“He then went to his car and sped off from the scene.”
The mother said she was stressed.
“I am pained by what he did to my child, he should be arrested, why would he stab mwana like that?
“I don’t go kubasa and no one goes kubasa so the money we are using, ndeyekutsvaga tsvaga.
“I think munhu uyu haasi tsotsi but aive nedhiri rake rekuponda mwana uyu, mamiriro aanga akaita nemota yake, zviri suspicious, he had plans to kill the child.
“Maybe, aitoda musoro wemwana wangu, I am pained.”
Another witness, only identified as Dube, said:
“When I arrived at the scene the guy held the young man by the collar and the young man was defenceless.
“He was pleading with the guy to let him go and he stabbed him twice, or three times ndakatarisa but, at that point, I had no idea if he was telling the truth or not kuti abirwa.
