He first raped her in 2018 when she was just 11.
He also raped her on different occasions until October 2023.
He has now been sentenced to 27 years in prison after being convicted of two counts of raping his 16-year-old niece.
The offence came to light when the girl wrote a suicide note citing the rape as the cause.
A neighbour found the suicide note and handed it to her mother, who laid a rape charge against her brother.
The man was sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment for one count, with four years being suspended for five years on condition that he did not commit a similar offence.
He was sentenced to an effective 15-year jail term on the second count.
