A HARARE family is looking for its 18-year-old son who went missing on April 28.
Eddy Morreira left home in Pomona and his whereabouts remain unknown.
His uncle said Eddy usually went jogging alone every morning, but he would tell them before leaving.
However, on the day he disappeared, he left without telling anyone where he was going.
“He was at home waiting to go to college in August and he would go out every morning to jog alone.
“So, when we woke up on this day, we thought he had gone for a jog.
“After a few hours, we became worried why he neither told anyone, nor leave the keys.
“We checked his room and noticed that his laptop and a few clothes were not there,” he said.
The family made a report to the police, but they were told to wait for seven days, before reporting him as a missing person.
“We checked the back gate that he usually used and found the keys at the gate.
“We decided to wait for him, but he did not come back and that’s when we decided to report to the police.”
The uncle said he had taken care of Eddy and his siblings, whose parents died, when they were still young.
“I took them when they were young because their father passed away.
“I took care of him and his siblings who are older than him.
“The other one is a graduate now and the other one is at Chinhoyi University.
“He had just finished his Form 4 at Goromonzi High School and he was waiting to go to college.
“He was a very quiet person so we never knew what he was thinking of and whether he had problems or not.”
The family said it had contacted everyone who knew him, including his friends, and no one had an idea where he was.
