Teenager pleads leniency for theft

Stealing from his in-laws landed an Odzi teenager in trouble after he was arrested in connection with the offence last week. Dzingirai Mazambara appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura. He pleaded guilty to the offence. The court heard that Mazambara stole five cell phones, three pairs of trousers, 4kg rice, 4kg sugar and a satchel belonging to Zebediah Chiwandire, his sister’s father-in-law.

It was alleged that on November 23 at around 4am, Chiwandire left Mazambara at home in the company of his two children and went to the fields. Mazambara then stole the property and disappeared. Please forgive me Your Worship, I realised it later that what I did was wrong. I returned some of the goods I had stolen because he is my in-law. I will never do it again,” he said. – The Manica Post.
