Award winning rapper Tehn Diamond, real name Tendai Nguni, is celebrating his birthday in style tomorrow with a gig slated for The Book Café. The birthday boy who turns 30 tomorrow will be on stage with his live band in a show that is dubbed “Be Amazing”. “I do not usually celebrate my birthday because to me it is just another day. In the past I used to release singles for free online or do something for other people. My birthday only becomes worth celebrating when I do something for the people who support me and my music.

“Tomorrow however, is all about having a good time so I encourage people to come in numbers,” he said.

The bash will feature performances by fellow artistes; Carl Joshua Ncube, Ammara Brown, Synik, Trae Young, Marcques, So Profound, Madzitatenguru, Trevor Dongo and producer Take Fizzo.

In an effort to bring diversity, Tehn Diamond engaged the services of spoken word artistes in the form of Madzitateguru and So Profound while renowned comedian Carl Joshua is bringing humour to the party.

Hip hop will also have firm representation with established as well as upcoming artistes like Fluid (Mabvuku-Tafara) Tarix (Highfield) Jackson the Zimboy and Sharky from Chitungwiza having made the list.

Tehn Diamond said while he was celebrating his birthday, it was also a stage to execute his music business model from last year of making $100 000 in revenue this year alone.

“This year is a chance to sink my feet into the foundation that I have been laying for the past few years. The first quarter will see me doing a lot of touring as well as locking down endorsement deals. I am also finalising my album The Perfect Tehn,” he said.

Speaking on expectations at the birthday bash, Tehn Diamond said guests will be spoilt for choice as he will join Trevor Dongo for a duet to the song “Kana Ndinewe”.
