TelOne 1-0 CAPS United
CAPS United were made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goals after they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of TelOne in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Ascot Stadium yesterday.
In-form striker, Washington Navaya scored the all-important goal early in the second half, to secure victory for the Wifi Boys with his fourth goal of the season.
Makepekepe will probably rue their impotence in front of goal as they dominated the match and deserved at least a point from this match.
The match started off at a slow pace with neither team taking the initiative although CAPS United were slightly the better side.
Makepekepe got their first real chance 17 minutes into the match when Brian Kadamanja headed wide off a Phineas Bamusi cross from the left.
TelOne goalkeeper Tapiwa Chilenga, was forced into a save when he punched Juan Mutudza’s shot from inside the box on the half hour mark.
After the breather, the hosts were the better side, they came close to opening the scoring, with Tawanda Macheke failing to connect with Gerald Bero’s pin point cross.
