AMBITIOUS TelOne have move to assure stakeholders that their house is still impact despite a run of disappointing results lately, including exiting the Chibuku Super Cup at home to Bikita Minerals on Saturday.
At one stage, TelOne coach Herbet Maruwa boldly installed his side as favourites for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title after important victories over Dynamos and Scottland.
At the halfway stage, TelOne had 28 points from 17 matches and trailed leaders and defending champions, Simba Bhora by seven points.
However, TelOne have fallen further behind and now trail Simba Bhora by 10 points after 24 matches following a 1-0 defeat at home to Manica Diamonds.
And when they were knocked out of the Chibuku Super Cup at home to lightweights, Bikita Minerals there were signs of discomfort amongst supporters who feel the team is now losing direction at the crucial stage.
Club president, Oscah Nduwure has since issued a public statement, assuring stakeholders that all is well in their camp after Saturday’s defeat at Ascot Stadium.
Nduwure believes they will bounce back stronger ahead of the weekend’s tough trip to Barbourfields where they face Highlanders on MatchDay 25 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
“Dear colleagues. I know yesterday’s result was tough to swallow, and I understand the frustration and disappointment that comes with it. But I want to assure you that TelOne FC is still intact, and we’re not defined by the past three loses.
“We’ve faced setbacks before, and we’ve always come out stronger. This team has heart, determination, and talent. Our players, coaches, and staff are committed to bouncing back and making you proud.
“We’re not going to let the past defeats define us. Instead, these defeats would be used as fuel to drive us forward. We’ll work harder, we’ll train smarter, and we’ll come back stronger,” said Nduwure.
He thanked loyal fans for their continued support.
“I want to thank you, our loyal fans, for your unwavering support. Your energy, passion, and dedication mean the world to us. We’re grateful for your loyalty and commitment to TelOne FC.
“So, let’s hold our heads high, let’s keep the faith, and let’s move forward together. We’ll rise above this setback, and we’ll emerge stronger and more determined than ever.
“Thank you for your continued support,” wrote Nduwure.
