Tenant arrested for raping landlord’s Grade 4 child

A 39 year-old Budiriro man was on Wednesday arrested for raping his landlord’s child.

Timothy Simango is alleged to have followed the nine-year-old Grade 4 child into the toilet and closed the door.

He allegedly removed the child’s clothes and raped her once without protection.

After the act, the complainant wore her clothes, went to her room and slept.

She did not reveal the matter to her mother.

The minor opened up to her teacher, who then advised her mother, leading to Timothy’s arrest.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest saying the child has since been taken to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical examination.

“Police arrested a Budiriro man for raping a minor,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The suspect is detained at Budiriro Police Station and is expected to appear in court tomorrow (today),” he said.
