Tenant takes landlady head on

A TENANT is taking his landlady head on in Harare.

Trust Chagonda said his landlady, Ethel Mhlanga, was making his family’s stay at her house unbearable.

He had dragged her to the Harare Civil Court.

“She locked my family and I out of the gate and switched off our electricity because I had delayed paying rent.

“She insults me in front of my kids, which I find disrespectful,” said Trust.

Magistrate Mashavira said Trust failed to provide evidence that he was being abused.

“Why do you keep insisting on staying there?

“Find an alternative place if she’s abusive rather than making things worse for yourself by staying,” she said.
