THE Pacific Storm Eastern Region Division One race enters home stretch with the last four rounds of league matches left before the curtain comes down on the 2025 season.
In this thrilling three-horse race, FC Hunters top the 15-team log standings with 60 points from 24 matches.
Masvingo United, seeking a return to the top-flight league, are second with 58 points from the same number of matches.
Tenax FC, another title contender, trail with 55 points, but their coach, Blessing Madombi, believes the title is still within reach.
FC Hunters’ healthy goal difference of 41 gives them a cushion, outstripping Masvingo United’s 25 and Tenax FC’s 19.
Madombi anticipates that the final four rounds of league fixtures, featuring clashes between the top three teams, could reshape the title race in the 2025 season’s final phase.
“This is an intriguing conclusion to the season.As Tenax FC, we still have everything to fight for. Looking at the remaining fixtures, Masvingo United must still play against FC Hunters, and we also have a match against Masvingo United. Additionally, we will face FC Hunters in one of the remaining four rounds of the league matches. This makes a captivating finale, as the outcome will ultimately depend on how each team in the title race performs in the remaining matches,” said Madombi.
The Tenax FC coach said his team is geared up for the final phase of the season. “Undoubtedly, everyone understands what is at stake. The administration, technical department, and players are all united in our efforts. Although we were unfortunate to drop points in recent matches, particularly those in hand, this does not mean we are out of contention. We will continue to fight until the final day of the season. We believe we have the necessary qualities to win this title, especially considering the possible dynamics of the remaining four fixtures,” said Madombi.
