It is reported that after learning of the truth about Sharon’s alleged affair with Ali at a local club in Harare, Tendai went to the family home in Belvedere and tried to kill himself.
Although Tendai’s mobile phone was not reachable, his promoter, Benjamin Ganyiwa, however, confirmed the incident.
“I was phoned by a relative who informed me about the incident because they wanted me to assist. Zvinonzi (Tendai) akanwa mushonga (It is said that Tendai took a pesticide).
“Unfortunately, I was still out of the country when the incident occurred so when I tried both Tendai and Morgan’s phone numbers, they were not reachable,” Ganyiwa said.
A source close to Tendai, also confirmed the incident, saying Tendai attempted to take his life after he could not stomach the revelation that Sharon was in a relationship with Ali.
“He (Tendai) had always suspected that the two were going out but had no evidence. However, he only discovered on Monday that the two were an item, and that’s when he drank the cleaning detergents for dogs at the family home in Belvedere,” said the source.
By yesterday morning Tendai was still receiving treatment at a clinic in Highfield.
“Right now I am at a private clinic in Highfield where Tendai is admitted. Phone me after an hour for further details,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, Sharon professed ignorance over the issue.
She laughed before saying: “Where are you getting all that? It’s new to me, I am just hearing it from you,” Sharon said.
Sharon also denied that she was going out with either Tendai or Ali, saying they were just friends.
“We are children of musicians and naturally we find it easy to associate among ourselves. We are always in touch but that doesn’t mean that I am in love with any one of them,” Sharon said.
Although Ali confirmed that the four of them were friends he, however, denied going out with Sharon.
Ali said: “I don’t know anything about that, it’s even coming as a shock to me. I can’t remember the last time I saw Tendai.
“In fact, I was with his brother Morgan yesterday (Monday) we dropped their posters at Pamview Complex and this other place before we went our separate ways around 2am but he never mentioned anything of that sort,” Ali said.
This is not the first time that Sharon has been in the media for the wrong reasons. Early this year, Sharon was said to be in love with Orchestra Mberikwazvo dancer Franco “Slomo” Dhaka and two months ago, our sister paper, The Sunday Mail broke the story of Tendai and Sharon’s alleged affair.
“They are head over heels in love, but they are just denying it because they know it will cause a media frenzy, but it is true,” reported The Sunday Mail.
