ZIFA Southern Region Division One side Indlovu Iyanyathela would have been disappointed with their campaign this year despite finishing 12th in the league but defender Terrence Ncube hopes for a better season for himself and his side in 2024.

The right wingback featured in 28 matches where he was used in various positions as he was one of the most trusted servants of the army side. He scored one goal and provided five assists for his teammates.

The former Arenel Movers and Real Stars player is demanding more from himself next season and has stated that a knee injury hampered his progress in the just ended season.

“I am actually happy that I managed to recover from this injury. It was very bad, but I am happy that at the end of the day I ended up being one of the best players and most consistent in the team.

I have been taking good care of myself and my body, I believe that next season I will come back as a better and stronger player, I also believe that I will contribute a lot to the team both defensively and attack,” said Ncube.

The Makokoba bred 22-year-old started his career at the Real Stars Academy which produced the likes of UAE based dribbling wizard Tafadzwa Dliwayo who used to play for Bulawayo Chiefs locally and Dynamos’ Brendon Mpofu.

He said he believes that his former academy produces stars and for him it is only a matter of time. He also made it clear that there has not been an offer on the table for him, he is still focusing on Indlovu Iyanyathela.

“I come from a place where you learn total football under people with a lot of football knowledge. The people who come from the academy are evidence of how good the academy trains and teaches football. For me it is all about staying patient, all the skills I have learnt there will come in handy one day and yes, at the moment I am only focusing on Indlovu Iyanyathela,” said Ncube.
