Thanks ZBCTV for screening Gala

the 21st February Movement Gala held at the National Sports Stadium.
Most people were glued to the small screens from as early as 8pm on Friday until Saturday afternoon.
Although the gala was screened on television that did not deter music lovers from thronging the giant stadium and I am told an estimated 50 000 people turned up for the event.
It was a big party with standout performances from a diverse line-up of artistes.
I had an opportunity of watching the gala on ZBCTV and it was pleasing to note that the sound and picture quality was tip-top. Perhaps, it’s because I watch ZBCTV on DStv and naturally there are no showers on this channel.
Before retiring to bed on Saturday late I had to attend to the “Jazz Under the Stars” concert which was also held at Borrowdale Racecourse.
What a show it was and I wouldn’t mind to watch the show again on ZBCTV later this month. It was a good production by any measure.
On the bill were South African singer Lira, Dudu Manhenga, Jazz Invitation, the Cool Crooners and Victor Kunonga to mention a few.
Such productions deserve to be screened on the national television and it is my hope that the powers that be at Pockets Hill will take note of this.

Midwesterner Paul Tannek leaves his family behind to start life as a student in New York.
He meets a pretty fellow student, Dora, who is forced to commute to college due to financial constraints.
Paul falls for Dora, but has to contend with some obnoxious roommates as well as his rival for her affections – her boyfriend, an older man, and the instructor of the course both Paul and Dora are attending.
Kingpin

Directed by Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly. Starring Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid and Bill Murray (1996).
Roy Munson, a promising young ten-pin bowler, loses his bowling hand after being tricked by his rival Ernie McCracken.
Seventeen years later Munson meets Ishmael Boorg who has the potential to be a bowling champion.
They go to the national championship game in the hope of winning.

Set in the North Carolina hills of 1934, this film concerns clans carrying on a blood feud. Tension mounts between the neighbouring clans of Wrights and Campbells, when a stranger arrives in their midst and falls in love with one of their flock, vicious confrontations follow.
No Such Thing

After the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Lurene decides to attend the state funeral.
On her way there she befriends Paul Cater who is black, and his daughter.
A series of events throws them together to fend for themselves in the American South.
Dumb and Dumberer

Loveable dullard siblings Harry and Lloyd return in When Harry Met Lloyd: “Dumb & Dumberer,” the prequel to the 1994 blockbuster “Dumb & Dumber”.
This time around, Harry and Lloyd are in their formative high school years, when they band together with a group of special ed students to try and crack “the big show,” otherwise known as mainstream high school.
