The alluring power of a well-planned garden

A NEW PLAYER in the fuel sector, RK Service Station, which opened a branch in August last year, has made a striking impression along Liberation Legacy Way in Harare.

The facility’s well-maintained garden is drawing attention and encouraging customers to stop and refuel.

The green-up efforts have proven to be a customer drawcard.

Those behind the filling station have created a lush lawn surrounding the premises and incorporated vibrant shrubs, ensuring year-round colour.

This leads us to this week’s topic: the importance of attention to detail in any greening project.

Every step requires meticulous consideration.  Ensure that all finishing touches, such as neatly trimmed edges, are executed flawlessly.

Attention to detail begins with selecting the right plants.

These determine the overall aesthetic and atmosphere, so thorough knowledge of their growing requirements is essential.

Another crucial aspect is considering the functionality and practicality of the garden.

Each greening design serves a specific purpose, be it attracting customers, providing enjoyment or acting as a showroom.

Carefully plan the space, addressing every element of the project.

This includes pathways, benches, lawns, beds, trellises, arches and pergolas.

Attention to detail also dictates the maintenance level of the garden.

Low-maintenance spaces require less detail, while high-maintenance spaces demand more frequent and thorough attention.

In today’s world, creating eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable greening projects is paramount for environmental preservation.

Environmental consciousness is more important than ever, so planning should reflect this.

When every detail is addressed, the result is a visually appealing space, as opposed to a haphazardly arranged one.

Detail is key for any greening enthusiast.
