They believe they are the Bayern Munich of Zimbabwean social football in terms of administration. Where simply former players lead the administration of the club.
Even though their gold-and-black kits make them look like Borussia Dortmund than the Bavarian giants.
Former Premiership players lead the administration of the club.
Assembled in 2014, Black Diamond joined the Harare Marketers Soccer League, two years later.
Nelson Matongorere who is part of the CAPS United technical side, was the head coach in their first season in the marketers league.
In 2018 under the guidance of Clive Takure they won the Marketers league.
From that crop, they have churned out a number of players who are currently playing professional football.
Some of the players who have passed through Black diamonds are, Tinotenda Mutyambizi (Triangle), Jayden Barake (WhaWha), Kudzai Zhuwaki (Come Again FC) Robson Chaleka (Ngezi under 19), and Kundai John (Ngezi Under 19).
Right now, they have the services of former Premiership playerss Eric Manokore, and Fararai Hanyani. In the past, they have also worked with Takesure Chinyama, Makai Jecha Kahwashu and Tendai Mwarura.
The club sees itself as a hub of developing young players who dream of making it big in the PSL.
This season coach Cornelius Magwenzi has steered his ship to 10 wins, one draw, and three losses. They are three points adrift log leaders.
He works with Cephas Mugurasave.
Magwenzi told H-Metro that he is impressed with the way they have started their campaign.
“This season we started well and we are currently third on the log standings. We are three points off the top spot with ten wins, a draw, and three losses.
“We believe that by the end of the year we will be where we belong again, that’s at the top and that most of our players will advance their careers in the top tier while we recruit new potential players for the 2023 season.
“The main aims are to socialize as well as to network to find links in sports as well as in life. To help give young players exposure as well as to win.
“Our matches are competitive and we also take our games seriously with total discipline. For us, it’s also difficult considering we are the team to beat as we win most of our matches,” he added.
