The blessings of Abraham have greater longevity

Bishop B. Manjoro : Dunamis

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article that focused on the Blessing of the Lord. I realised that some people believe that the Bible was directed to the Jews, thus the promises and blessings scattered all over the Bible are for Jews. Today I want to remind you that Jesus Christ went on the Cross of Calvary not for the Jews to be blessed, but for the Gentiles to inherit the blessings, so that the blessings that were originally for the Jews will come to you as well.Galatians 3: 13-14, says, “13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one who hangs on a tree. (14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the Promise of the Spirit through Faith.”

As the offspring of Abraham, the Jews already had his blessings, but on the Cross, Christ broke the curse for the Gentiles and enabled them to inherit the Abrahamic blessings which usher peace, divine protection and provision to those who believe in Christ.

Christ was made a curse on the Cross so that curses that were meant to trouble you will be taken from you. The Bible actually tell us that the curses of the world were so heavy that they caused the Earth to shake and the sun became dark, but Jesus carried it all and buried it for those who trust in Him.

If there are remnants or residues of curses in your life, then you need to fight and put them on the Cross.

Curses are a hindrance in life, and they often work against your progress. However, Christ was nailed on the Cross, to take all the curses that trouble people so that doors of opportunities will open in your life. When you receive Christ and inherit the blessing of Abraham, you are in a position to end generational curses in your family and emancipate future generations in your family.

The blessing of Abraham is pregnant with many other blessings. By this statement I mean that when you have it, you get other blessings, what I normally call the fruits of the underlying blessing such divine protection, peace, provisions, joy and victory.

Therefore, we should not make a mistake of equating the blessing of Abraham with material possessions because it is a package with many components necessary for life.

The blessing of Abraham will enable you to reach levels you never imagined to reach. You need the blessing of Abraham because when you do things through the natural way, you don’t do great things.

For example, when you depend on your pay to develop your life, I believe you will not reach the levels that you potentially have with the blessing of Abraham. What I understand from the Word of God is that little money with the blessing of Abraham will achieve great things because this blessing has the miracle of multiplication.

The blessing of Abraham multiplies the resources that you have and in the end you achieve more.

One thing that I like about the blessing of Abraham is that it is different from the riches brought through charms, which always vanishes when the owner dies.

The blessings of Abraham have greater longevity and will benefit your family and your future generations. The Bible teaches that a curse can go to a third or fourth generation, but the blessing will go to a thousand generation.

This also tells us that a blessing is greater than a curse and has more benefits to future generations. Therefore, you need to make a choice and accept Christ as your personal saviour so that you can usher a brighter future to your family.

You might have messed up your life for a very long time, but God is still opening His hands to receive you anytime. You might have been in poverty till in old age, but God can do miracles in your remaining years of life.

Don’t look at how old you are, you can still make an impact on others. When you make a choice to receive Christ, you will receive supernatural enablement that oils your life.

I will give caution that when you inherit the blessing of Abraham it doesn’t mean you will be immune to challenges, since the Bible has clearly spelt out that there is a time to laugh and time to be sorrowful.

Challenges per se don’t mean that you are cursed, but can just be a test of your fortitude. In tough times that’s where you need to declare boldly that, “I’m blessed”. Even though Abraham was promised to be the father of nations, he bore Isaac at 100 years, when all hope seemed to have faded.

The Bible tells us that Abraham was considered to be a friend of God because he listened to God and always depended on Him.

The challenge many people have is the tendency to mix the Word of God with humanly solutions. Some mix the Word of God with charms and concoctions — essentially entailing that the Word cannot accomplish it alone thus need something else.

If you have friends or people who are advising you to mix the Word of God with charms, please move away from their sphere of influence and rely on God. The only way to inherit the blessing of Abraham and for it to work in you is through Christ or the Cross of Calvary.

Additional humanly solutions give an impression that what Christ did on the Cross is not enough. I know that in some workplaces or families there are people who might be using charms or who derive their strength from witch doctors.

When you are in Christ, you don’t need to be afraid or intimidated by such people because Jesus is greater than any other power or principality. Remember, the blessing of Abraham which you get after receiving Christ contains divine protection.

As I conclude I will remind you that “For with God, all things are possible” (Mark 10: 27).
