ALL is set for the premiere of the animated comedy The Bulawayo Show this Friday at Rainbow City 1.
Tickets are selling like hot cakes with only 20 left for the show. The premiere is highly anticipated by those who have watched the various video clips that were released in April this year and started circulating on social media.

Executive producer Zenzele Ndebele said those who would come to pay at the door on the day of the show are at risk of being disappointed and turned away.

He said those who want to purchase the remaining tickets, which have been pegged at $5, could visit their Facebook page – The Bulawayo Show – and get more details there.

“I know there are a number of people who think they will come and pay at the door. They risk being disappointed because only 20 tickets are left for the show. The sitting capacity for Rainbow City 1 is 165 and we have sold 145 tickets,” said Ndebele.

He said the response from the Bulawayo community was good despite the harsh economic conditions bedevilling the city and country.

“So far there has been a positive response from the people of Bulawayo. We would like to thank them once again for their continued support of the animated comedy show,” said Ndebele.

He said the purpose of The Bulawayo Show was to build an entertainment industry in the city that would educate and entertain at the same time.

“The cartoons are not only merely for entertainment but they can be used for educational purposes. With foreign cartoons, children are learning foreign cultures, we can teach them our culture and language through the cartoons we produce,” said Ndebele.

He said the various souvenirs such as T-shirts and DVDs are now ready for the people to buy after the show.

The Bulawayo Show, which comprises seven mini comedy clips, Sgwadi Mampara, Ntuthu, Comedy Club, Alpha News, Amabeats, Office Gossip and The Kingdom, went viral online. After the success of the clips online, producers decided to launch the clips to the public.

The clips tackle various life issues including drug abuse, peer pressure and dating. Popular characters on the clips are Sox and Ratu who are always on various missions.
