The Charambas reflect on past year

FOR gospel musicians Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia, 2022 is a year they would want to quickly forget.

The Covid-19 pandemic, according to the couple, brought with it some traumatic experiences.

“Apart from being musicians, we are also church leaders. The lockdown restrictions separated us from both our fans and congregants. We could not hold live shows and were barred from physically meeting our followers and new converts,” said Pastor Charamba.

The Rooted in Christ Church leaders will, starting from today, pray and fast for the next 10 days.

“We are going to pray and fast for our country and families. The new year must be a better year for all of us. It must be a year that will be filled with grace,” Amai Charamba said.

Pastor Charamba hinted at releasing a new album this year.

“As I said previously, last year was not a good year. We worked and failed to release an album. With God’s grace, we are soon going to release the album this year,” said the “Machira Chete” hitmaker

Amai Charamba urged Zimbabweans to pray and fast during the first 10 days of the year.

“Wherever you are, I urge each and every Zimbabwean to pray and fast within the first 10 days of the year, as we seek God’s grace. God will surely answer our prayers this year,” Amai Charamba said.

The couple is also celebrating 25 years of marriage.

“We are thankful to God for keeping us together for this long,” Pastor Charamba said.

The couple married in 1997 and were blessed with three daughters Eternity, Shalom and Tagamuchira, as well as sons Aveneni and Timukudze.
