To cap it all, Cde Gava has now set his sights at becoming a National Assembly Member and at least according to him, these ambitions are about to be fulfilled in a few weeks to come.

A business administrator by profession and full time politician, Cde Gava was born in Mhondoro-Ngezi eight months after Zimbabwe attained independence.
He says he draws much in inspiration from his late mother.

Cde Gava began his political career 2006 and since then he has never looked back.
“I have never looked back. I have spent half of my life trying to work out how best I can serve the people in my community. I followed my mother footsteps. She had vision to see his country and people and I am fulfilling it. Being born to a parent who is a politician may have contributed to my having a passion to serve the people,” said Cde Gava.

He has been spearheading developmental in Mhondoro-Ngezi.
He says working with her mother could have pushed him into politics at a tender age of 16. “I started working as my mother’s chauffer, driving her around as she undertook her political duties. One day we went to a party restructuring programme at the branch level. I waited outside the meeting when I was shocked to hear that the people had just voted for me to become secretary for the youth wing.

“Since then I have never looked back. I was 16 at the time and I was about to complete my Ordinary Level. I then literally grew in the party”
Cde Gava said despite working for various companies before becoming a full time politician, he was not distracted from achieving his goal of serving the people to the best of his abilities.

“I thank my mother because she was always there to give support and advice. She was a strong woman and I admire her for that. Her death did not discourage form my chosen path as I kept drawing inspiration from Zanu-PF national political commissar Cde Webster Shamu who remained my mentor.

Politics is part of his life and it flows in him.
His almost two decades of service to the people of Mhondoro-Ngezi is now paying off.

The confident youth leader predicts a resounding victory for Zanu-PF in the constituency.
He says his vision is to improve the lives of the people through the utilisation of natural resources and irrigation facilities in the area.

My vision is to make sure that the natural resources in my area are fully harnessed towards developing the infrastructure and improving the lives of the people in the area.
“The recent discoveries of uranium in the area a positive development which I believe would play a major role in improving lives of the people. I also appreciate the community share ownership trust that was launched in my area.”

Cde Gava however said it is important for party members to be more conscious about serving the needs of the people more than their own. Cde Gava is married to Cde Wenyika-Gava who is also contesting under the women’s quota for Harare province.

“My greatest fan is my wife. She encouraged me to put my name as candidate in the Zanu-PF primaries. My wish is for us to be together in the August House in the Eight Parliament of Zimbabwe.
