THE FORCES BEHIND MASTER H’S RISE TO BECOME A FORCE

HARD Mashona Arts and Culture co-founder, Lennox ‘Spitfire’ Madzamba, has played a big role in Master H’ s career.

The red-hot chanter is now one of the biggest of the emerging stars on the domestic music scene.

Spitfire said they made some big decisions which ended helping Master H explode.

“We groomed Master H but we had no power to make him the bigger artist that he is now.

“So, when we realised Master H had reached a level that he needed to be pushed forward, we had no power or influence for him to go there and be known.

“By then, we were about fve-years-old.

“So, we decided with the board that we needed to make a plan to send him to Chillspot Records.

“We didn’t sit down with Chillspot, we just sent him there and told him what to say and they agreed to work with him.

“They then recorded Kasong Kekushaya on their riddim and that song exploded beyond imagination and it was played on various radio stations and he would perform it over and over again on stage.”

He added:

“That is when he rose at Chillspot, unfortunately, things went for him down and he ended up with DR Bond.

“We went to see him when he was down and sick at his mother’s place and that’s where we discussed how we could turn his fortunes around.

“He listened to the advice that we gave him.

“He got better, he started recording all the songs from ‘Melody’ up to ‘Nawanadem’, he is still using that template that we gave him to turn his career around.

“We are happy that he is doing well under the current management set-up though we want him to contribute positively to Hard Mashona kunova ndiko kwaakabva so that he remembers that Hard Mashona also wants to lift other upcoming artists.

“Now we have two artists we are pushing, the other one is called Skido, who is in Gweru, and Freeboy who is in Chipinge.”
