The fourth man in the fire

DANIEL 3:24-26 KJV
Then Nebuchadnezzar, the king was castonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Didcnot we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. [25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. [26] Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fire. The fire was heated seven times more than normal times.
The king was determined to burn them to ashes. This was because they were resolute and refused to worship the image the king had erected. They vowed to bow down to the only God there is: Jehovah.
Before they were thrown into the furnace, they had been offered to declare if their refusal to bow to the image was deliberate or inadvertent.
If inadvertent, the king was prepared to spare them.
The trio told him that it was by design, and that their God was able to deliver them from the fire, but if He chose not to, it was His prerogative, but which would not deter them from defying the decree of the king.
They were bound with their hands at their backs. Those who were shoving them into the fire were themselves burnt by the fire.
I pause here to say, it is usual with our God that the snarer is often taken by his own snare.
The digger of your pity is often the one who falls into it. The erectors of gallows normally hang on them.
The three men went into the furnace which had been heated to its maximum. Seven is a number of completion, meaning the fire had reached its highest attainable heat.
But our God is not deterred by heat or how many times the problem has been multiplied.
Multiplication of the heat was indicative of the doubt of the king in the effectiveness of his normal fire.
He had a notion that the men he was dealing with were of their own kind. Fire was likely not to have effect on them. The devil doubts his effect on a borna again son and daughter of God.
When the enemy comes in like a flood, our God raises a standard against him. The heating of the fire more than normal, triggered the reaction of God in an unusual fashion.
God can empty heaven of Himself.
I mean God can vacate the throne for the rescue for His child in danger.
While they were making the wood for the fire and heating up the fire, God was observing all what was happening.
If we turn our camera lenses to Heaven, we can see Gabriel coming to the throne of God with the news to God that His children were in a crisis and their burning was imminent.
I can see God fifing His eyes, not on Gabriel, but on Babylon, the scene of the imminent burning of His children.
Gabriel thought he was breaking the news to God, of events in Babylon. God was watching events all the while.
I can see Michael arriving at the thronewith the request to be permitted to go and annihilate Babylon.
God refused.
The Angel that brought a deluge in Noah’s time pleaded to go. God dismissed Him. He wanted to go Himself.
His children’s lives were at stake.
The fire only burnt the cords that bound the three men. The fire or even its smoke were not effective on the clothes of the three men. That was the work of the fourth man.
The next morning, the king went to the furnace.
He counted the number of the men in the fire. After he had counted to three, lo and behold, there was a fourth Man.
The fourth was an unusual Man. The king could not describe Him. He cried to his officers and asked them in bewilderment: “Did we not put three men in the fire?
How come I see a fourth Man and He looks like a son of God?”
Before Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were in the furnace, the fourth Man was there already.
He is the one who comes in a crisis. He is the one who quenches the heat of the problem. He is the one who sets you free and make you walk in fire whose heat is taken away.
There is a fourth man in your fire. The fourth man is with you always.
There is a fourth Man in the fire.
