The heartbeat of a lonely heart

Vincent Kanhukamwe : Harare Institute of Technology

The heartbeat of a lonely heart The sound that cries for companionship The voice of homeless emotionsA race with no finishing point

A journey without a destination

I have been running this race from the day you left,

I am walking down memory lane

With my feet hurting

I never knew that loneliness was this painful

Lonesomeness I have tasted

Helpless I have felt

And hopeless my situation has become

The lonely days I am spending without you,

The bits and pieces of the lonely moments,

A lifetime of sorrow.

But believing I have never stopped

And believing I will never stop

With each day that passes by,

But I am glad,

Because I am moving closer to the great day

When I shall see you again

When loneliness will vanish…

Always in my mind, always in my heart

The voice that cries for you,

THE HEARTBEAT OF MY LONELY HEART
