The Herald continues to consolidate its standing as the dominant daily newspaper in Zimbabwe after winning platinum in the Megafest Leadership Awards 2021 on Wednesday night.
The night belonged to Zimpapers as most of its subsidiaries scooped top awards. The Herald’s sterling performance was recognised in the Leader in the Print Media Industry category.
Zimpapers group chief marketing officer Mr Tapuwa Mandimutsira won the 2021 Outstanding Marketing Leader of the Year Award, while Star FM received platinum in the Radio Industry classification. Deputy editor of The Herald, Ranga Mataire, paid tribute to the market for its continued support, saying the publication remained committed to offer a product of high quality.
“As The Herald, we feel vindicated that the market continues to show interest in our products,” he said. “The Herald is a pacesetter in terms of news and providing a platform for advertisers.
“We have no doubt that the publication will continue dominating the market because of the quality, balance, fair and objective content that we produce in hard copy, as well as on social media platforms and our website.”
Star FM general manager Comfort Mbofana dedicated the award to his “hard working team”.
“The Star FM brand is the big sister in the Zimpapers Radio Broadcasting Division’s four assets; Diamond FM, Capitalk104FM, Nyaminyami FM and Star FM,” said Mr Mbofana.
Megafest advocates good business practice and utmost standards of ethical conduct, which has made it the pinnacle of awards. The awards celebrate achievements throughout Zimbabwe.
