The hidden potential in me

Charmaine Vongai Mutukwa

You say I’m beautiful,

But I only see black shun skin.

You say I have great intellect,

But I only see bad grades.

You say I’m the light,

But I am surrounded by darkness.

You say I can see,

But, I am blind to even what is near.

You say I will rise,

That the throne is mine,

That I am at the top,

But, I see myself falling.

Repeatedly, again, again!

But l guess you are right,

I will rise and rise.

Not even the sky is the limit.
