Bishop B. Manjoro : Dunamis
Every man of God has a few signature messages that are consistently impressed by God in his heart such that he would not spend much time before he preaches/teaches about them. For me, faith and the Holy Spirit are some of my signature themes. Today, I want to teach about the Holy Spirit in relation to our desires and faith.
The Bible says in Genesis 1: 1-2, “1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
These verses though they relate to the state of affairs before the creation of all living and non-living things we have today, it also has deeper spiritual meaning. During that time the Spirit of God which we now commonly know as the Holy Spirit was hovering over the continuous stretches of waters.
What the Holy Spirit was doing is like a hen that is brooding over the eggs. When a hen is brooding over the eggs, to a naïve person it looks like it is just wasting time, doing nothing. But the process of brooding over eggs is important because it is the one that will make the eggs to hatch and produce chicks.
In Genesis 1 the brooding of the Holy Spirit led to the creation of the earth and its inhabitants as we know it today. Nowadays, the Holy Spirit does hover around a person and with the passage of time it makes great things to happen.
When a hen is brooding over the eggs, she knows the purpose — which is to create chicks that will grow to become chickens and produce eggs (that can be consumed) and also to produce future offspring. The brooding process though difficult, yields much for the hen.
The Holy Spirit is like a hen and your desires are like eggs. The Holy Spirit must sit on you 24/7 for the desires of your heart to hatch into life. The Holy Spirit must permeate into your system and change you and your form just like how the eggs are changed by the brooding of the hen. When the Holy Spirit hovers around you for some time, it starts to change the desires into reality.
The hen knows that eggs are not equal to a chicken thus it labours for 21 days for the eggs to hatch. The hen knows that when you have chicks eventually you will have both chickens and eggs. Therefore, you must not be too excited by the little things you have because you can achieve greater things.
When the Holy Spirit is hovering upon you, don’t go for things you can afford, but things you desire even if they are unreachable in the natural. The Holy Spirit has the multiplier effects to the resources you have. I understand that some of you might struggle to understand how it occurs, but I want to assure you that when the Holy Spirit hovers around you and your desires, it multiplies the resources you have, create opportunities and connections that will make you to achieve your desires.
I teach these things because I have experienced them and I am still experiencing them.
When you have faith and believe God, these things manifest in your life. However, I continue to emphasise that you need the Holy Spirit, which is the catalyst to the whole process.
Going back to our hen analogy; we see that the eggs do not help the hen to hatch them, because the hen is the one that knows how it’s done.
There is always a temptation to help the Holy Spirit, especially when our desires take more time than what we want. At your workplace, opportunities to steal or abuse resources may come easily such that you think that God has given you the chance to fulfil you desires. I want to tell you that the Holy Spirit does not operate that way- it creates honest avenues or connections for you to achieve the desires of your heart. So you need patience as the desires are being turned into reality.
Your duty is to position yourself so that you can identify and utilise the opportunities God creates. Always remember eggs do not hatch in a fridge or outside the influence of the hen.
Therefore your desires will not come into fruition outside the influence of the Holy Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to take over.
When you are overtaken by the Holy Spirit you begin to declare big things and you declare anything coming from God. In other words the Holy Spirit will enable you to have the desires that are consistent with what God wants in your life and that He knows you can achieve through His grace.
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you don’t reason the “how part”; but you declare things that you want. The reason why many people pursue small dreams is that they are very logical and reason too much- for example, “where would I get the money to start a business?”
When you have the Holy Spirit your faith grows because the Holy Spirit is the source of faith. And when you have faith you get things you are not qualified by the natural occurrences. You don’t look for things that fit you but the things that are consistent with the Word of God.
You should always know that faith is not logical; it often sounds childish and foolish to the people who are logical but with faith God settles your matters. Since the Holy Spirit is the source of great faith, I urge you to allow the Holy Spirit to hover over you and your desires 24/7 and I know that when you do that your life will never be the same again.
Always remember that “For with God, all things are possible” (Mark 10: 27).
