“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” — Exodus 14:14
As we step into January 2026, we do not enter this new year by our own strength. We come standing on God’s faithfulness.
The God who brought us through 2025 is the same who heralds us into 2026.
Israelites stood at the Red Sea with the enemy behind them and no visible way forward, yet God spoke a powerful promise:
“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
This promise is not only for them — it is also for us.
Reflecting on 2025, we agree that it was not an easy journey, yet we emerged victors because of God.
Some storms we saw coming, others caught us by surprise, but through them all, God never left us.
He fought battles we were aware of and those we were not.
Today, before we ask God for anything new, we first thank Him for bringing us this far.
In our scripture today God speaks to His people at one of the most frightening moments of their lives assuring them that “The LORD shall fight for you and hold your peace.”
The Israelites were trapped between the enemy, Red Sea and fear without human solution.
Yet, God made them a promise.
He did not tell them to fight or plan or panic, but instead to trust Him, declaring that the battle was His.
This same God speaks to us today as we enter 2026 with unanswered questions, unfinished battles and concerns about what lies ahead.
God’s word remains: “The LORD shall fight for you”, as has already positioned Himself as your defender.
He goes on to say “Ye shall hold your peace”… it means being confident, choosing faith over fear, trust over worry and obedience over panic.
When we stop striving, God starts moving, stop fighting in our own strength, God steps in with His power.
Retrospection shows evidence of God’s hand at work.
There were moments when we were clueless but God made a way, felt weak and His strength carried us.
Some doors closed, relationships changed, and plans that didn’t work— but God protected, redirecting us and prepared us for what is ahead.
We enter 2026 with faith, declaring that God will fight for us.
The same God who opened the Red Sea is still opening ways today and is still undefeated.
We step into this new year with gratitude of where God has brought us from, and confidence for where He is taking us.
We stand on His promise, rest in His peace and trust His power.
