THE Dynamos technical team have admitted that they missed out on a good player in their failed pursuit to sign Yadah Stars’ defender, Brian Kadamanja.
The Glamour Boys wanted Kadamanja to be a direct replacement for Partson Jaure, who joined Simba Bhora, after the expiry of his contract.
The deal collapsed after Dynamos realised that the highly-rated defender had a running contract with the Miracle Boys.
It is believed that Yadah Stars were not ready to part ways with their main man and they notified Dynamos to shift their focus.
Kadamanja was then seen at Simba Bhora’s base, trying his luck, and Yadah were believed to have agreed terms with the miners.
But, the deal collapsed after the 28-year-old failed to impress the club’s coach, Tonderai Ndiraya.
Kadamanja was left with no option than to continue with the Miracle Boys.
Dynamos eventually settled for Kelvin Moyo from Bulawayo Chiefs, who is proving to be a real deal, in partnering with skipper Frank Makatati.
Their defence is still to be breached in two outings.
“Kadamanja was one of our main targets, we really wanted to get him on board but there were many complications for the deal to be successful,” said DeMbare assistant coach Genesis Mangombe.
“He is a good player and he is someone we are keeping our eyes on because he is one of the best defenders in the league.
“But, we are content with the defence we have and they are showing a good understanding and it’s very encouraging for us as the technical team and having Kadamanja in our stable was going to add more depth.”
Kadamanja started the campaign in fine form forcing his way into the Herald Team of the Week in Yadah’s first game of the season in which they edged Green Fuel 1-0.
His contract runs down at the end of this campaign.
Dynamos are set to face off Simba Bhora this Saturday at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.
