Every girl is beautiful in her own way, because all have amazing personalities that God has given them. Besides physical looks, girls are also judged by what they have within them, the character and personality. This is the story set to be told on December 5 as the search for the Miss Teen Zim 2016 begins.
Yes, preparations for the fourth edition of the Miss Teen Zim 2016 Competition are all set.
Dubbed (Teen 4), the audition will see girls between the ages of 15-19 meet a panel of judges at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
In an interview, the pageant organisers said the audition is the entry level selection process of the pageant.
“The girls meet the judges personally and have a one-on-one chat, also showing their cat walk and speech skills to the judges.
“If impressed the judges shortlist the candidates for the Miss Teen Zim boot camp scheduled for April 2016. Once in boot camp a winner will be selected to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Teen World pageant. This literally means we are looking for someone with potential to win the Miss Teen World pageant in 2016,” said the show organisers.
They said, only the top 25 models will be selected on the day of auditions.
“This is followed by intense training, rehearsals and interview selection process in the boot camp and the winner will be at the Miss Teen World pageant set for Houston in America in July
2016.
The Miss Teen final will be hosted in the April during the school holiday break allowing models four months to prepare for the final.
“The competition among the contestants has tremendously improved over the years. This is mainly due to success of the previous shows.
The unique opportunity to travel to the USA has always generated a lot of excitement among the teens. This is a once in a life time opportunity to represent your country at an international beauty pageant.
“We also thank the parents for their support by allowing their children to participate in this event and dedication in supporting their children,” explained the show organiser.
However, generally these modelling events have not been taken seriously due to lack of credibility.
“At Miss Teen Zim we have tried our best to bring some professionalism and credibility to the industry, by having a fair and transparent competition as seen in the previous competition the best lady always won the pageant without favour.”
The competition is open to everyone girl in the country within the age range.
This year will see a new selection format.
“Girls would judged based on their average mark at only Harare audition centre. This will give a better quality show as only those with passion will find their way to the Harare audition, allowing those that meet the grade to be auditioned.
“This harsh judging criterion is aimed at obtaining a top 15 spot at the Miss Teen World final. This criteria only allows the best to qualify for the final unlike an unfair system of allocating places on regional lines,” said show organiser.

The categories included Beauty (30 percent), Potential (20 percent), Skin (10 percent), Walk (10 percent), Interview (10 percent), Presentation (10 percent) and Personality (10 percent).

She has been a good teen ambassador and has helped a lot to recruit new girls from the competition. She generated a lot of attention at the Miss Teen Zim Facebook page as she was a natural socialite, attending school events and many other social programmes.
She has enjoyed her reign, mainly her visit to the USA that was a life-changing experience and being a teen ambassador. She has met other celebrities, including hosting a Youth Talk Show on ZTV.
Her participation in the audition will be limited this time as she is still mourning the loss of her grandmother. She was her pillar of strength as she was always supporting Soraya in her modelling career.
The past winners have been to Britain, South Africa, Greece and Brazil.
