The power of personal prophecy

we hear David saying: “Many, O Lord my God are thy wonderful works which thou has done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
It is crystal clear from this chapter that God’s general will towards believers is that they should be hearing from God each second of their life, that is why we need personal prophecy.
Apart from hearing God through the bible, I discovered that personal prophecy is more specific to the needs of individuals. I have received hundreds of prophetic words in my lifetime and they brought greater clarity to my life concerning my destiny. These words have imparted strength and gifts to my life.
I highly value personal prophecy, and I desire that every believer benefit from receiving the word of God.
Jehovah God is a personal God and every person has a destiny in His plan. He wants us to choose to hear from Him. In our church, the Prophet is placed in such a place that he is able to meet the needs of many believers who desire to receive words of personal prophecy.
In as much as the Lord had spoken to the people of the past through His holy prophets, He is willing today to speak to His church through today’s prophets.
The Holy Spirit speaks to us through them; He does not speak to us through the vacuum.
He chose some bodies to occupy in order to speak to us. It is right to seek personal prophecy from the Lord.
We pray to God and we receive our answers from Him through His prophets.
Not all believers are clean enough to hear directly from the Lord. God made it easier for some of us to hear from Him through His anointed vessels, who are the prophets.
Pride is so much in many people of this world. In as much as they believe in God, many do not believe that their God is able to send men and women whom He may separate for His work as His spokespersons.
The bible expresses the general will of God for every believer, but a personal prophecy is more specific to the needs of individuals. It is correct to seek a rhema. A rhema is a personal prophetic word from the Lord that is not something you simply read from the bible.
There are thousands of church leaders who do not want you to receive a word from a person with a prophetic anointing. Pastors and bishops have warned against this in their teachings because they also can’t hear directly from God so they end up attacking the prophets.
Hearing and seeing things from God comes upon an individual as a gift; it is not an issue that requires an election to be conducted. You can be elected by man to become an overseer, a church secretary or even a church president, but hearing from God does not require any man’s vote, it is by God’s election of grace.
Many church leaders will end up teaching their people that all they need is the bible, the Word (logos) of God. They teach their people, “if you just study the word, you will get all the answers that you need. Christians should never go to a service expecting someone to give them a word (rhema) from God.”
Consequently, many people go for years without ever getting a word (rhema) from God because they have been taught to be suspicious of the supernatural flow of personal prophecy.
I understand the reasons for warning people in this way, and I know the dangers of being deceived.
However, the Lord has shown me some things concerning the prophetic anointing, and I believe that it is a mistake to “throw the baby out with the bath water”.
For starters, we can see in the Old Testament that people went to the prophets of God often to get the word of the Lord.
They did not yet have the unction of the Holy Ghost in their own lives as we do under the New Testament, so they sought out prophets of the Lord who did have the unction for personal prophecy.
Now, even though God can speak to you individually, there are still times when you need to hear from God through the avenue of prophecy. You need to hear God’s word for your life through another saint.
When you receive such a word, you will know for yourself how prophecy operates, and you will be able to judge the word of the Lord by the Spirit of truth. Personal prophecy is very good for you; it will help you understanding the current will of God for your life.
The bible is a collection of your general prophecies that is where all believers in Christ should start from.
We might learn that we should pray, but how and when to pray for what that is when we need personal prophecy. God never intended for us to go the hard way, but personal prophecy would make things easier for me and for you.
If God wants you to be in a certain place at a certain time, the prophetic would come in to give you directions. God does not control people with a remote control. He does sent His servants the prophets who would tell what to do and when to do it currently and accurately according to the will of God.
If you are not a prophet you would not be judged by God for not being one, but judgement will come when we do not take heed to the words of prophecy by the prophets of God.
Many believers and pastors, in as much as they desire to hear from God, it is practically impossible because of not being pure enough before God (Titus 1:15).
People in a sinful spiritual state will twist or pervert God’s desires. But as long as you are pure, sincere, and open before God, you can trust your desires because your heart is open to receive the desires of God rather than your own, which is actually a difficult thing which a lot of believers are struggling with.
Better you hear God personally through His anointed prophets. When a prophet is preaching, teaching or singing, it is a prophecy for you.
