The rain of blessings is here

WE have all experienced drought in one form or another: spiritual dryness, social isolation, health problems, career struggles or financial challenges.

But today, we declare an end to that drought.

We call upon the God of Elijah to open the floodgates of heaven and let the rain of blessings pour down.

Elijah prayed for rain and God answered: “And it came to pass in the meanwhile, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind and there was a great rain.” — 1 Kings 18:45James 5:17-18 also speaks of the breakthrough following Elijah’s prayer: “Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

Elijah’s breakthrough came through persistent prayer. His prayer was bold, specific and persistent. He prayed seven times before the rain came, demonstrating his trust in God’s promise.

His prayer was not just for himself, but for the entire nation.

As children of God, we must not only make personal prayers; we ought to also stand in the gap for others: our relatives, our friends, our churches, our companies and our nation at large. We serve a God who is able to open the floodgates of heaven and pour down blessings. Let us pray with boldness, specificity and persistence, just like Elijah. What is it that you desire? Pray and God will grant the desires of your heart.

Declare with me: “The drought is over! The rain of blessings is coming!” Let us trust in God’s promise and wait expectantly for the breakthrough.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You today, asking for a breakthrough in our lives. Open the floodgates of heaven and let the rain of Your blessings pour down upon us. Refresh and revitalise us, that we may serve You with renewed strength and passion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
