PAMUSHANA love the taste of the Stella Tea Nash Netball Tournament and have warned other participating schools that they intend make it five cups in a row at this week’s competition in Bulawayo.
“We are going to Bulawayo to conquer and we are making no apologies for it,” said coach Peter Juro.
Pamushana defended their Nash Under-20 Netball Championship crown earlier this year and Juro says his girls are ready to blow the opposition away.
“I believe we have already made our statement that we mean business loud and clear by defending our Nash championship title. Our rivals should be warned that we are in no mood to slow down, winning is part of our DNA. Look we are not being respectful to the other teams who believe they are also contenders but the truth is we are no focusing on them, there are not threats to us. All our focus is on creating our own netballing legacy,” said the Pamushana gaffer.
Juro’s not-so-secret weapons at the tournament will be the experienced players that featured in last year’s edition.
“There are players such as Leona Moyo and Joyleen Ndlovu who have the experience and mindset to win. These players were part of the team which successfully defended our Nash championship title,” added Juro.
A spokesperson for the tournament organisers, Tsitsi Kumadiro, said all games would be played at White City Stadium in order to “cater for the insatiable appetite of netball lovers”.
“Sobukazi High is our host school and they have an automatic ticket but all the games will be played at White City to cater for the fans.
“One of our major aims is to create a solid base for national team selectors to choose from as they build a team for the future,” said Kumadiro.
