The Vista closes permanently!

The Vista, a popular entertainment joint in Bulawayo that had become a top spot for the younger generation, has closed its doors after an eight-year run.

Since rebranding from Horizon Pub to The Vista in 2016 following a change of management, the venue had gained popularity among teenagers and young adults aged 18 to 25.

Bulawayo boasts numerous nightspots in and around the CBD, each catering to specific target markets based on gate charges, liquor prices, and location.

The Vista, situated in the CBD, attracted youths with its affordable beer prices and hosted a variety of events, including live music performances from local and South African acts including DJ Zinhle, winter carnivals, pageants, talent shows, and glow parties. The club’s DJs were also a major draw, known for their energetic sets.

Beyond its affordable alcohol offerings, The Vista’s classy aesthetic, breezy atmosphere, state-of-the-art interior design, pool, and stunning view of Bulawayo made it a sought-after venue.

However, in recent years, the venue’s infrastructure had deteriorated, losing its former allure. There was minimal maintenance affecting its once-vibrant appeal.

Without specifying the reasons for closure, the management of The Vista announced its permanent shutdown.

“It is with a profound sense of finality that we announce the permanent closure of The Vista. Since 2016,

The Vista has stood as a beacon of entertainment in the heart of Bulawayo. However, the time has come for us to bid farewell not only to the venue but to the concept of The Vista entirely,” read a statement from management.

They expressed gratitude to all who supported the venue during its eight-year run.

“We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every patron, staff member, and partner who has supported us through this incredible journey. Your love, energy, and loyalty have made The Vista an unforgettable part of Bulawayo’s social scene.

“This is not just the end of an era — it is the closure of The Vista’s story, permanently. While we close this chapter, we carry with us countless memories that will remain cherished forever.

“Thank you, Bulawayo, for allowing The Vista to thrive in your hearts for so many years.”
Sources close to the matter said the concept had run its course.

“The approach they were using had reached the end of its lifespan, and management apparently felt it was no longer viable to continue with it in its current form.

“The entertainment industry thrives on renewal, and businesses must occasionally revamp their spots to introduce fresh concepts,” said the source.
