Theo backs Sanchez

LONDON — Theo Walcott believes he and new signing Alexis Sanchez can perform a formidable partnership for Arsenal this season. The Chilean completed his £35million switch to the Emirates last week as Arsene Wenger made a real signal of intent early in the transfer window. Many believe it could be the deal to take the Gunners back to the top of the league and Walcott insists nobody will look forward to facing his side. The 25-year-old told Arsenal Player: “There’s a great buzz around the club at the moment. Sanchez is a world-class player.

“He is a marquee signing and something that the club has pushed on to – first you had Mesut Ozil and now it is Alexis Sanchez. Who knows where it is going to stop?

“With me and him on the flanks, a lot of teams won’t be looking forward to playing Arsenal this year.”

Walcott himself hasn’t played since suffering a cruciate ligament injury against Tottenham back in January.

However he insists he is pleased with his progress but refused to set a comeback date.— The Mirror.
