OBADIAH TARUMBWA cannot stop scoring.
The veteran Chicken Inn striker, who described his midweek winner against Caps United as a fine piece of art, scored for the second game in a row as the Gamecocks subdued neighbours Bulawayo City at Luveve yesterday.
Tarumbwa doubled his side’s lead four minutes into the second half.
This was after George Majika had thrust the hosts into a 22nd minute lead as Chicken Inn turned their domination of the early exchanges into a goal.
Nhlanhla Ndlovu pulled one back for City on the stroke full time.
The win took Chicken Inn’s points tally to 19, seven behind log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Gamecocks coach Joey Antipas has always demanded consistency from his charges and the championship winning gaffer is hoping that this second win on the bounce marks the start of a very good run.
“Hard fought three points, it was a typical derby and I am happy for the boys.
They showed character. But we cannot celebrate this one for long, we go back to the training ground and work on areas that still need our attention,” he said.
For City, the defeat was a quick return back to earth as it followed an impressive 3-0 midweek victory against Nichrut.
