FELI Nandi lit up the MTN Bushfire Festival in eSwatini to show why she is one of the most talked-about local entertainers at the moment.
Held in the lush Malkerns Valley from Friday to Sunday, the 18th edition of the festival was a ball of fire and Feli brought the heat to the stage.
The ‘Mhute’ hit-maker shared the stage with a host of musicians from across the continent, including the iconic Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the five-time Grammy-winning ensemble.
Speaking through her manager Connie Mazani, Feli said performing for a new crowd, alongside international stars, was a dream come true.
“It was amazing to learn from such professionals, their professionalism is world-class. But the biggest moment? Feeling the love from fellow Zimbabweans in the crowd.
“That support was everything.”
According to Mazani, Feli’s performance was electric, with her passion and energy grabbing the audience from the first note.
“This is a major milestone. Bushfire is one of Africa’s biggest festivals, and being part of it opens so many doors. These festivals feed into each other, so this is just the beginning.”
This year’s MTN Bushfire Festival brought a vintage line-up that turned Malkerns Valley into a musical melting pot.
Feli Nandi shared the stage with South African powerhouse Thandiswa Mazwai, genre-defying Mozambican band 340ml, Taiwanese sensation ABAO, and South America’s Grupo MAVICHI.
Eswatini’s own stars also showed up in full force, from Heal N Keys and Khole to a fiery set by Young Zesh and Lyrikal Busta.
On the Corona Firefly Stage, Zimbabwe was well represented by Charisse C alongside Kenya’s bold DJ Coco Em, Swiss spinner Bony Fly, and South Africa’s finest, including DJ Lag, Oscar Mbo, and Lady Zee.
Meanwhile, Feli Nandi is preparing for her intimate “A Night With Feli Nandi” show taking place at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa in August. Thereafter, she will jet off to Germany in October for another performance, this time at the Moto Moto Festival.
She is expected to share the stage with fellow Zimbabwean stars Mwenje Mathole, Mary Annibal, Mokoomba, and Awa Khiwe.
